The Porter Leipzig-Spinnerei is a connected urban hub, offering design-led studios and apartments for short trips, as well as for extended stays. Our workspaces and meeting areas facilitate to merge living with new work and provide an inspiring environment for meetings and team gatherings.

 

On ground floor levels you can find the Porter Café, serving fairtrade coffee and high-quality food and drinks throughout the day. Next door, we will open our Porter Market, a hybrid offering combining a concept store with a temporary art gallery, that can be used for exclusive partner and community events.

 

In-house guests, as well as The Porter Members, will also have access to our sports and yoga studio, as well as to our iconic rooftop terrace overlooking the city of Leipzig.

Leipzig Plagwitz – A vibrant district FOR ART, NIGHTLIFE, AND URBAN LIFE.

The former industrial district of Plagwitz is the seedbed of creativity in Leipzig. Think an artist community with studios and exhibition spaces housed in a former cotton mill, arthouse cinema, a design/vintage market, DJs and live bands in an erstwhile spinning mill, free graffiti spraying areas, and a community garden.

 

Although there is plenty of buzz year-round to draw you to Plagwitz, the neighborhood really blooms in the summer. Spend a relaxing day by the river, admire the street art on display, and be charmed by the small cafés, eateries, and bars spilling out to the streets that light up at night like fireflies.

There is always a spirit of optimism in the district of Plagwitz - a curiosity for new things and the courage to rethink the status quo. Between former factory buildings, old and new Leipzig residents live in an exciting coexistence of industrial culture and individuality.

THE PEOPLE OF PORTER: THE IMAGES OF RÜDIGER GLATZ HAVE AN ETHEREAL QUALITY TO THEM. ALMOST LIKE A MOMENT CAUGHT IN POESY.

Born in Heidelberg, Rüdiger Glatz moved to Hamburg to pursue his career in the visual arts. The artist and photographer focusses on conceptual imagery in the fields of portraits, features, and architecture. He has showcased his works all over Europe, including the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome, Barlach Halle K in Hamburg, and Palazzo Gianfigliazzi, Florence, among others.
