Dankbar
A charming Old World setting in which to enjoy seriously good coffee and start your day with food fit for the gods.
Like its name suggests, this coffee place truly makes you grateful. Set in a charming old butcher’s shop, Dankbar lures you with its specialty coffees, homemade cakes, an exquisite breakfast (pulled beef tacos, shakshuka, or fluffy pancakes anyone?), and a weekly changing lunch menu as much as its quaint Old-World interiors. There’s also a hand-selected wine menu and cocktails should your visit spill into the evening, which we highly recommend you do on a weekend to enjoy some creative multicourse menu.
Dankbar has been on the Leipzig foodie circuit for five years and it’s no wonder: they’re constantly striving for the unusual and the delicious. Think Japanese BBQ with an authentic Konro grill, white asparagus in seven herbs and buttermilk, and a dark chocolate cake with mango and macadamia.

The man behind Dankbar, Toni Krätzer, attaches great importance to regional products and cooperation with local partners. In addition to the Annalinde city nursery, this also includes the natural bakery Backstein and the patisserie Hart&Herzlich.
In addition to remarkable interpretations of well-known classics and new creations, the bartenders encourage patrons to order whatever their hearts desire, such as a French 75.
