BAUMWOLLSpinnerei
The former factory town is home to a roster of galleries, artists, workshops, jewellery designers, and exhibitions. There is always a reason to head to the famous Baumwollspinnerei.
Thanks to a mix of art and industrial architecture, the former Leipzig-Lindenau cotton mill or Spinnerei has quickly drawn attention from the international art scene as one of the most interesting studio and gallery centres for contemporary art in Europe. Several galleries and many artists have settled on the site, including Neo Rauch, one of the best representatives of the New Leipzig School movement.
The former factory town is also home to architect studios, jewellery and fashion designers, an international dance and choreography centre, a theatre, and a cinema. Expect an ever-changing roster of workshops, exhibitions, and tours at the Spinnerei.

Painters, photographers, sculptors, and media and conceptual artists all have studios here. An open forum means you can see contemporary art in the exhibition areas, discuss the works, or even buy them. There are also product design and jewellery shops to visit.
